We started this year off writing with Ms. Nigam's 9th graders in India. One of the 1st questions to which Ms. Nigam asked the students to research and to respond was "How Effective is Disaster Management in YOUR Country?"
This was actually the students' first 'meeting,' "Write a personal narrative. In your narrative share one thing unique about your culture. Also, ask one thing that you would like to learn about another culture."
Students also wrote 1st person perspective narratives as though they were victims of 9-11 (left).

CANADA!
As we read The Outsiders, we researched the cause of teen violence in the country in which we live today. We published our writing with students in CANADA in "Our Global Classroom!" on Edmodo. The students were able to share their writing AND give peer-feedback.
